Sanders County Mission Statement
Tobacco use is the single greatest cause of premature death and disease throughout the county. In Montana heart disease and lung cancer remain the leading causes of potential like lost in adults.
The mission of Sanders County Tobacco Use Prevention Program is to improve the health of Sanders County residents by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke and by reducing tobacco use (cigarettes and spit tobacco) among all ages and populations. Sanders County Tobacco Prevention efforts have been in existence since June 1999
Sanders County Tobacco Use Prevention Program has developed its program along evidence based strategies as proposed by MTUPP and the CDC.
